Among the series of system sounds I had the privilege to create for Harman, the N5005 project undoubtedly stood out as one of the most extensive and intriguing endeavors. These high-end headphones, designed to deliver a supreme audio experience with Hi-Res capabilities and a 5-driver hybrid construction, exemplified the pinnacle of sound technology. Interestingly, when it came to branding sounds for this exceptional device, we faced a unique challenge. The initial inspirations ranged from the cinematic masterpiece "Interstellar" to vintage analog synthesizers and an urban, perhaps even "hipster" vibe. However, my mind immediately gravitated towards the iconic movie "Back to the Future" and the futuristic allure of Nike Mag sneakers. Initially met with some skepticism, the idea eventually found its place as the perfect sonic identity for the N5005. It was a fascinating journey, transforming diverse concepts from the creative team into cohesive and memorable soundscapes that encapsulated the essence of the product. (images taken from akg.com
